Expand Your Horizons
A recent article in the Observer Magazine has brought about a few parallels in my thinking akin to probably many of the reasons people like Charles Darwin were made for, that is, travel, and of course most of us know, to paraphrase for the umpteenth time, travel broadens the mind.
In a time where the first time in my life my passport has expired, and haven’t been in a departure lounge for around six months, I am having withdrawal symptoms. As a creative, the effective cognitive thinking process which kicks in as one ascends en route to the back of beyond is magical. Often equipped with a grid iron Moleskine and a black 0.5 Uniball, I’m ready to write, scribe and twist and turn fueled by my intangible surroundings, it’s like my brain is using all gears, you see the overall picture, you can reflect logically, suddenly I am more organised and confident in my thoughts and ideas, Fantastic.
